Claire McSweeney
A graduate of the Dunedin School of Art in 2011 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (major in Jewellery and Metal smithing), Claire is now based out of a shared studio space in central Wellington where she works creating jewellery.
Growing up on the West Coast of the South Island Claire has always had a strong connection with New Zealand’s natural environment. Claire’s work focuses on this connection through an experimentation of form using various jewellery materials and techniques like hand piercing, casting and fold forming. Resulting in jewellery that references and celebrates the beauty of specific native plants. Each individual piece tells a story for the wearer and speaks of a love for our unique New Zealand environment.
Claire’s jewellery pieces are all one of a kind and completely hand fabricated by her.
