This composition is made from using a wedge of lakeside forest and its reflection in the water to form triangles that point toward a solitary rock. The rock appears to have both a visible bright and a shadow side above the water, as well as its own shiny reflection. There is an ethereal feel created by the large expanse of still water and mist in the forest. Blue Lake, in Nelson Lakes National Park, is one of my favourite places on this earth.
